My Bag

Hello

My name is Jameela Jamil. Welcome To I Weigh Community.

Two years ago we started an Instagram account to try to create a safe and radically inclusive space on social media. A lot of us want to help others and change the world for the better, but don’t know where to start.

Activism can seem daunting. Sometimes it’s just hard and lonely. At I Weigh Community, we don’t believe it has to be that way. We believe in brick-by-brick activism, and making a difference in large numbers. We’re going to have to come together and do this as one to really shift the narrative of our society.

I Weigh Community will introduce you to new voices, artists, activists and movements. These are the people we believe we need to listen to. We are still learning, and we’re inviting you to come and learn alongside us so we can all grow together. It’s never too late to want to help and understand each other better.

This movement is so important to me, and I look forward to getting to know you all.

Love,
Jam x

I Weigh with Jameela Jamil: 2022 Webby Award Honoree x2!

This year’s Webby Awards nominations are out, and we’re proud to share that our podcast, I Weigh with Jameela Jamil, is an Honoree in two different categories of the annual honors recognizing the best of websites, podcasts, apps and other digital media!

I Weigh’s Honoree inclusions for the 2022 Webby Awards are in the Podcast Diversity & Inclusion, and Health & Wellness categories. This is the 2nd year our podcast is included as an Honoree in the Diversity & Inclusion category in as many years since we launched!

All of the Webby Awards nominees are eligible to win one of two awards: the Webby Award, selected by Academy members, and the fan-voted Webby People’s Voice Award, for which voting at vote.webbyawards.com runs now through April 21, at 11:59 p.m. PT. The winners of the 26th Annual Webby Awards, presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences (IADAS), will be announced Tuesday, April 26.

We’re excited to see Maintenance Phase, a podcast from Aubrey Gordon and Michael Hobbes nominated for Best Podcast Series. Check out our recent crossover episode HERE. And you can vote for them HERE!

The Webby Awards had a record-breaking year for submissions in 2022 with more than 14,000 entries from all 50 U.S. states and 70 countries. Congratulations to all of the other honorees & nominees this year!
